So as you all know I love to support local and started a segment where we could share, learn and inspire! It is so important to support local and share your findings with others.

During lock down, we are going to do a whole lot of these to highlight these businesses – many of which are taking HUGE strain during this time – and shed some awareness and love to all.

Today I am sharing a lovely little business that will change your life. B&L Consulting – your very own virtual assistants!

I love how the world is changing and to be able to have a virtual assistant? Love it! They offer email management, data capturing and general admin that they can happily do for you, while you use that time on other things. They can also assist with invoicing, copy writing, online research and soon, they will be offering social media management too! Their packages are on their website or they can tailor it to suits your needs. They are here to asssit.

Check out their website , and give them a follow on Instagram, they would love the support!

We chatted to B&L Consulting, and they had this to say to us!

Tell us about your business and what services you offer?

B & L Consulting is a Virtual Assistance business focused on streamlining all backend and administration needs of entrepreneurs, small and medium businesses.

As we are a virtual company, we do work remotely and are fully geared in terms of internet security, great internet stability, and a clocking system to log hours worked on our projects.

We work as a team, making sure all work is double-checked and assessed before we submit anything – ensuring that we minimize room for error on any projects we work on. This also means that any potential customer that decides to contract with us gets two admin clerks for the price of one.

With a VA and how our contracts work, we have a list of requirements and hours to complete through the month and no extra fees are charged unless more hours are required – this means NO UIF and NO Medical Aid contributions are required by the company we are contracted with.

Our services include but are not limited to the following:
*Data capturing
*Emial management
*Quoting and Invoicing
*Schedule management
*Ghost writing from clients own script
*Online/Internet research
*Basic bookkeeping using an accurate accounting system

What are the top 3 learnings you have had to find out the hard way since starting your own businesses – I know it’s early days but perhaps some insights?

1. Things take time! When you are eager and excited to get started, you tend to forget that putting thoughts into action may take longer than anticipated.

We found this to be very true when registering our company, opening our business account and building our brand on social media.
All of these aspects take time so be prepared to actively invest your time.

2. Misconceptions on your timeframe. We have learned that not everything works out the way you may have thought it would. It takes time to build your brand and dedication to get up everyday and put in the time to make something happen.

Your first instinct will be to speak to everyone around you for business because you automatically think they will support you but try every and all avenues – if you believe in your brand and business, you need to put yourself out there.

We have had a few situations like this and have learned that although their intentions are good, it is more about encouragement rather than wanting to hire us for their business.

Don’t let that get you down or discourage you, look for the positive aspect of the feedback.

3. Ask for help or advice when you need it.

It is impossible to know everything and this is so very true when you are starting your own business. Do not be scared to ask those around you for advice or reach out to other startups that have inspired you.

You can never have enough information. Take a look at the people in your life and take advantage of their wisdom and feedback – it is free and endless.

We know what it is like to keep things close to our chest but at some point you might be too close to the situation to see your options – ask the people you trust to get the objective possibilities you cannot see.

What is your advice to individuals out there wanting to start their own businesses but are too scared?

As cliche as this sounds, just do it! What have you got to lose?
It is daunting, scary and intimidating but the moment you start actively working on your own brand and realizing how valuable your time is, it is so freeing!

Once you start seeing all the pieces fall into place is the most amazing feeling and we believe that everyone should know what that is like.

The biggest piece of advice we can give is to stay motivated and keep your goals front of mind – know what your business will look like in 6 months from now, a year from now.

Cut out any negativity that filters in because it will happen and remain focused, dedicated and know what you are worth.
