So as you all know I love to support local and started a segment where we could share, learn and inspire! It is so important to support local and share your findings with others.

During lock down, we are going to do a whole lot of these to highlight these businesses – many of which are taking HUGE strain during this time – and shed some awareness and love to all.

Today we are showcasing a brand called BRASS! Started by two lovely sisters (Lisa and Nikki), who love beautiful things, they started to source gorgeous jewellery collections from their travelling adventures internationally.

Their jewellery is created from high quality brass and then dipped into 21 carat gold.

They have a wide range of pieces, from trendy to more traditional to suit any style and many of their pieces incorporate gorgeous semi precious stones.

Stones such as : tourmaline, amethyst, labradorite, pearl, rose quartz, agate and turquoise.

Check out their Instagram and Facebook pages. Please follow them on Social Media to keep up to date on new collections and promotions!

We chatted to Nikki and she had this to say about their business!

Please tell us a little about your business and your products?

My sister and I began our business in 2015 after travelling in Europe and Asia and sourcing products that we loved. The jewellery we sell is made from brass and dipped in 21 carat gold and often embedded with semi-precious stones. Please find a little press release attached on us.

You opened your own business – How does it feel to be a business owner that loves what they do?

We love fashion and so this business suites us down to the ground. We gain a lot of joy from selling beautiful things and seeing our clients feel good.

What are the top 3 learnings you have had to find out the hard way since starting your own business?

To have a good, solid business plan and a good financial mentor or advisor; to never take anything personally from clients, to offer top service and the good quality to build loyal customers, branding and marketing is essential and you can do this relatively inexpensively.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?

Growing into the lifestyle ranges with more offerings and not just jewellery

What is your advice to individuals out there wanting to start their own businesses but are too scared?

Take the leap and if you love it, you’ll stick it out even with the challenges and won’t look back. There’s nothing quite like working for yourself.

Tell us 2 things that are the BEST part about owning your own business and make it all worth while?

That I get to work closely with my sister and best friend and we have a lot of fun and both bring different strengths to the business, we get to decide on products and we get to combine our love for adventure, travel and fashion into our business!

How has lock down affected you?

Sales have dropped because our clients have less cash flow for luxury items so we would appreciate every like, follow and sale!
