So as you all know I love to support local and started a segment where we could share, learn and inspire! It is so important to support local and share your findings with others.

During lock down, we are going to do a whole lot of these to highlight these businesses – many of which are taking HUGE strain during this time – and shed some awareness and love to all.

I discovered CF Suncare recently as I was looking for recommendations for suncare products for sensitive skin. I received many suggestions to look into CF Suncare so I decided to share with you all! They are a local South African business, specializing in cruelty free and vegan products. Their SPF is CANSA approved so this is the real deal.  Please check out their website to find out more about their suncare range. Here is the site.  They sell sun misters, moisturisers, SPF, lip balm – the list is endless!

Please follow them on Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date with their launches and promotions.

We chatted to CF Suncare about their business and this is what they had to say!

Tell us a little bit about your business.

We are called CF Products, and one of our product departments are CF Suncare. CF Suncare was born in 2015, with the idea to make it fun for everyone to wear sunscreen, ensuring people do apply SPF daily! We bring out one new product each year and our sunscreen is CANSA Recognised.

What are the top 3 learnings you have had to find out the hard way since starting your own business?

  • It is not easy. Takes hard work, sweat and tears!
  • It is quite a challenge to get people to understand how important SPF is. Education is key!
  • Getting a new brand recognised is extremely hard.

Where do you see your business in 5 years? Once we have gotten over the effects of the lock down.

  • Having our products sold in most retail stores would be first prize!
  • To be the number one SPF brand South Africans want to purchase.
  • And to see South Africans supporting locally made products.

What is your advice to individuals out there wanting to start their own businesses but are too scared?

Have a clear idea what you want and where you want to go

Take heart but know it takes GREAT SACRIFICE and HARD WORK

Don’t be embarrassed to work hard.

Don’t compare yourself or your business

DO NOT GIVE UP!!! EVER!

You can do it!

Tell us 2 things that are the BEST part about owning your own business and make it all worth while?

Creating your own stamp in life and the economy as well as creating jobs!

How has lock down affected you and your team?

Oh my goodness, I think it has effected majority of businesses. Biggest effect is finance. No orders, while most were in lockdown until August. I hope we all can slowly get back to where we were.
