So as you all know I love to support local and started a segment where we could share, learn and inspire! It is so important to support local and share your findings with others.

During lock down, we are going to do a whole lot of these to highlight these businesses – many of which are taking HUGE strain during this time – and shed some awareness and love to all.

I found the most beautiful designer clothing, made in Cape Town by the lovely Maria. Each item is made with love and to your requirements to make you feel comfortable! Her fabrics are stunning – really eye catching and I know I have a few of these items on my wish list, including the reversible top that has two different fabrics and you can pick and choose which you would like to wear on which day and with which outfit! How cool? Check out her website for more.

Please also follow Crowe on Instagram so see when new items are launched! Let’s see what Maria had to say about her brand.

You opened your own business – How does it feel to be a successful designer that inspires others and loves what they do?

I love creating clothes that make people feel great in, clothes are, super important to a person’s well being,  if you look great you feel great.

What are the top 3 learnings you have had to find out the hard way since starting your own business?

This is my second business, my first was a boutique in London, lessons learnt!

1. Never buy too much stock,

Do it, if you don’t, you will never know but you will always regret not doing it.

Tell us 2 things that are the BEST part about owning your own business and make it all worth while?

  • Planning your own schedule and day
  • Not having to answer to anyone else

How has lock down affected you ?

Yes, was unable to get new fabrics so did a lockdown sale for South Africans making one offs using fabrics I had left over which worked well..Now I can get new fabrics it’s good but 70% of my clients overseas and I am not allowed to post as yet so affecting sales.

However I am selling lots of masks and marfs (mask and a scarf combo) to locals! And have lots of garments and masks ready to post as soon as I can internationally!
