So as you all know I love to support local and started a segment where we could share, learn and inspire! It is so important to support local and share your findings with others.
During lock down, we are going to do a whole lot of these to highlight these businesses – many of which are taking HUGE strain during this time – and shed some awareness and love to all.
Today I want to share a beautiful brand with you called Rainberry Baby. A brand new business that needs your support! Such gorgeous products and such a stunning colour pallet too! Check out their baby clothing and accessories.
We chatted to the lovely Tiffani and she had this to say about her new business!
Please tell us a little about your business and your products?
Rainberry Baby is an online baby boutique that just recently launched in May 2020, and was born out of my love for tiny humans. The brand is all about offering gender neutral and earthy toned baby clothing and accessories. All orders come packaged in a beautiful gift box, which can be sent directly to a loved one with a personalised message. Gifting yourself is also a must sometimes.
You opened your own business – How does it feel to be a business owner that loves what they do?
Being a business owner has been my dream for a very long time. I’ve always wanted to create a brand from scratch, and it’s been so fun and rewarding.
It feels amazing knowing that all aspects of my brand were thought of by myself and is basically an extension of who I am.
I am so grateful that I’m able to wake up every morning and do what I love.
What are the top 3 learnings you have had to find out the hard way since starting your own business?
Since Rainberry Baby is very new, I admit that there’s still a lot that I need and want to learn. So far I’ve definitely learnt that managing a business by myself has not been easy – from working with my suppliers to helping my amazing customers – and everything in between. Daily tasks include oversight of marketing, finances, stockists, couriers, packaging, social media management and customer responses, while dealing with the craziness that is this current pandemic. I do everything for my brand by myself so it does take a lot of time but it’s all worth it. I love what I do.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
In five years from now I would definitely love to have at least one physical Rainberry Baby store, and a much wider range of products. Currently my baby boutique is only an online store. I would also like to have my products available internationally, hopefully sooner than five years though.
What is your advice to individuals out there wanting to start their own businesses but are too scared?
My advice would be to just go for it. Take the risk and reach for the stars. Do as much research as you can and don’t be afraid to ask for advice if you need to. There’s no better time to start than right now. I understand how scary starting a business can be, it took me a very long time to just do it. I say dare to dream your wildest dreams and make them a reality. Take a chance! If you put in the work anything is possible.
Tell us 2 things that are the BEST part about owning your own business and make it all worth while?
The best part about owning my own business is that I get to work from home (super beneficial when it’s this cold!) and I get to work my own hours. This doesn’t mean I get to work less hours, because trust me I’m working on the brand all day and night. But all the hours I put in are benefiting me and not somebody else. The success of my brand is determined by how much work I put in. But at least I have the freedom to sit in the sun and have a coffee when I feel like it. So it really is extremely rewarding owning your own business.
7. How has lock down affected you?
Although lockdown delayed the initial launch of Rainberry Baby, it hasn’t affected the brand too much since the store is online only. I do however still ensure that all my products are sanitised before shipping and that myself and my courier partner follow all necessary requirements to ensure the safety of my customers and their little ones.
