So as you all know I love to support local and started a #girlboss segment where we could share, learn and inspire!

During lock down, we are going to do a whole lot of these to highlight these businesses – many of which are taking HUGE strain during this time – and shed some awareness and love to all.

So I would like to introduce to you the loveliest brand of polymer clay jewellery! I first met Liezl at the Irene Market when I purchased a pair of her earrings and have been stalking her on Instagram ever since! So beautifully made, very unique and the colours of the various collections are fantastic – a pair for every outfit ladies!

Welcome to you all, please meet The Matchy Matchy Collection!

You opened your own jewellery business  –  How does it feel to be a successful #girlboss that inspires others and loves what she does?

As a fairly new business I have been overwhelmed with the support of friends and loyal customers who love my products and that inspires me to keep on creating.

The business has also opened up social networking with fellow creators and that has been such an enriching experience for me. It might sound corny, but I love to see the happiness my pieces bring to my clients faces, especially when I do custom designs.

What are the top learnings you have had to find out the hard way since starting your own business?

I underestimated the time and resources it takes to start to turn a profit.
In the beginning stages, it is better to do most things yourself, for example marketing.
You are still discovering your brand and outside influence might divert you from your initial course.
It is not all about creativity. There is admin, websites, profit margins, etc. and they are just as important.

Where do you see your business in 5 years? Once we have gotten over the effects of the lock down.

I would like to see a customer base on all the continents. I would also love to later bring in unskilled women and train them on the techniques to help with manufacturing.

What is your advice to women out there wanting to start their own businesses but are too scared?

If you have a business idea but you’re to scared to start; start small. Make a few products and show it to your friends. Try to sell them on free platforms like Hello Pretty and take bigger steps as you see results.

Tell us 2 things that are the BEST part about owning your own business and make it all worth while?

The prospect of freedom and knowing that each hour you put in is towards your own dream, not someone else’s.
Doing what you love and being paid for it.

Check our her lovely website! And send some love their way on their Instagram page! Any orders placed on their online store will be sent after lockdown. And when you see them at the next Linden Market, be sure to give Liezl some love!
