This is an incredible find and I know will be a feature that many will love! I discovered WedReady after we got engaged. The thought of planning a wedding brings much anxiety and stress and we kept stopping the planning because I just couldn’t wrap my head around all the moving parts that go into planning a wedding. It is enough to do your head in!
Then we heard about this app (that is free!) and helps you keep everything in one place, send reminders, helps you keep an eye on your budget and shares wedding services and suppliers with you so you can plan as efficiently and stress free as possible. I knew I had to share with you all!

Lindie and Gerrit (Co-founders of WedReady) got engaged in 2016. Planning a wedding is every girl’s dream, right? You dream about the perfect proposal and wedding, never realizing how difficult and stressful it can be. Months of back and forth emailing and follow-up calls to suppliers. Using many tools and platforms to try and keep the planning under control.
We wanted to use a platform where it would be easy to view packages/prices, Availability, the location of suppliers and be able to book them. Basically “AirBnB” for the wedding Industry. Thus, WedReady was born. Today WedReady is available on our website, iOS, Android and Huawei.

For suppliers it is great marketing to list on the WedReady platform. We know that brides as well as suppliers are greatly affected by covid, thus we are not charging any subscription fees for suppliers to list on WedReady for the rest of 2021. We have also created an online community supporting local businesses, building relationships and collaborating with each other.

With COVID hitting the world, our hearts broke for brides.
We collaborated with Jacaranda FM and some of the top suppliers in the South African wedding industry to create a competition #WEDREADYWINAWEDDING. Couples shared their wedding planning stories during covid to stand a chance of winning an entire wedding. And boy does our winning couple have a story! Chante and Shane got engaged in 2019 and were involved in a terrible car accident just 7 days later. Shaun fractured his C5 and C6 and Chante broke her pelvis and sacrum. They were treated in different hospitals 500km apart. She had to learn to walk again. Her motivation being to walk down the aisle. But it did not end there. She lost her job and they both contracted Covid in 2020. Fortunately, all is well now, they are getting married on 22 March at the beautiful Smitsfield venue with this dream WedReadywedding.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?
We are currently developing exciting new features like a budgeting tool and guestlist rsvp system that will be launched during 2021. Over the next few years, we will continue to optimize WedReady for the local market.
We aim to be technology leaders in the South African wedding industry and expand internationally in 5 years.
